His storyOn January 23, 1945 the 591st FAB went into position at Montenau relieving the 470th FA Battalion. At 0930 hours on the 24th a Forward OP manned by C Battery received a direct mortar hit and Lt Ronald J Kaulitz, S/Sgt Ray H Blackwell and Pfc Homer W Miller Jr. were killed. Tec5 William Monroe was seriously wounded.
