note: Aircraft type B-17G-75-VE Fortress #42-107188 ‘Ramp Rooster’ got a direct hit by FLAK on #2 engine and caught on fire. The hydraulic system was also hit and went down simultaneously with the electric system. After trying to put the fire out, the crew abandoned the plane. When the Pilot 2 Lt Erickson left the ship, it went into a spiral and exploded. Parachutes were fired on by by Germans in descent. 5 crewmembers were taken POW, 3 man landed in allied territory, 2 of them were SIA and 1 man was passed out and failed to regain consciousness in time to open his parachute and crashed.
Sgt Robert Morden was taken POW and imprisoned in Germany.
