note: On December 21, 1944, Pfc Ralph H Leavitt was taken POW and imprisoned in Stalag IX-B Bad Orb Hessen-Nassau, Prussia, Germany.
In February 1945 more than 350 U.S. POW’s, Jewish and other religions, were sent to Berga concentration camp for forced labor. On April 4, 1945 these POW’s were send on a death march to Bavaria. On April 15, died when they were in the vicinity of Marktredwitz, Bavaria, Germany.
