His story: Pvt Odell Sharpe vanished in the chaos, cold and shell bursts of the Battle of the Bulge. He was killed by friendly fire on December 19, 1944 as the battle was beginning, but was reported MIA, December 25, 1944.
Thanks to the efforts of the MIA project, he was recovered on September 16, 2003 in the forest NE of Rocherath, Belgum, close to the German border.
More than 60 years later, the Army has brought him home to his family and was burried in Uvalda, Georgia on January 30, 2005.
