His storyFlight Sergeant Kenneth Maurice Mason was the only survivor of the Woolf Crew, which failed to return from their mission to attack enemy troop positions near Sankt Vith, Belgium on December 26, 1944.
Sgt Lawrence was taken POW and transported to Stalag Luft I Barth, West Pomerania, Germany. On May 1945 he was liberated by Russion Troops.
