A remarkable story

En route from Trois-Ponts ► Stavelot their half-track had accidently broken down. Due to this delay, they were ordered to guard an intersection near Stavelot. When a column of German tanks approached, the AT-canon crew knocked out the first tank and stopped abruptley the unrushing Germans. Eventually soon after this incident a German 88 shell hit the base of the 57mm gun. The entire crew Pfc McCollum, Cpl Hollenbeck, Pvt Buchanan and Pvt Higgins was killed.
