His story: On 19 December 1944, in Schönberg, Belgium, Pfc James J Searcy III was hit in the lower back by schrapnel and taken to the 3rd Battalion field hospital. In the chaos of the retrait during the beginning of the German attack in the Ardennes, Belgium, he was reported Missing in Action on 21 December. It turned out that he was taken prisoner. He died of his injuries on the train between Bad Breisig and Limburg an der Lahn in Germany.
